A question of hypocrisy?

One last thing about the past Caledonia CDA meeting that discussed the next steps for creating an independent school district in Caledonia. I will pose it as a question...

Why is the education liaison of the Johnson Foundation and former president of the Wisconsin Charter School Association ( and currently serving on the board of the 21st Century Preparatory Academy) so against the idea of Caledonia seeking an alternative to RUSD?

His comments at Wednesday's meeting were welcomed because he is a resident of Caledonia, but I left that meeting trying to figure out what he was so afraid of.

After all, actions speak louder than words. He has made it his lifelong ambition to ensure there are alternatives to RUSD for a select few, but when Caledonia wants to do the same, he is against it?

I ask you this, why the vehement opposition?

You must be talking about Greg Anderegg. I believe he was also an advisor to the Clinton Administration for carter schools and is the current president of the 21st Century Prep (Charter) school.

I guess it's okay to have alternatives only if Mr. Anderegg is interested in it.

I've asked him the same question, and for once, he is silent. Hmm...

The entire approach to education coming from the Johnsons is confusing and contradictory. On the one hand they support the charters, Prairie, St. Cats, etc... and on the other they support the completely disfunctional RUSD and every hopeless and expensive referendum. In other words, they support both choice and the ultimate in non-choice, RUSD. Who knows why? Denis Navratil.

Denis,

You bring up an interesting and valid point about SC Johnson but that was not my intent of this post.

I would daresay that the "company" needs to be politically correct and support all K-12 education.

My intent of this post was wondering why one specific individual (rather than SC Johnson) seemed so deadset against the idea of creating a new school district...
